Took my 2008 Dodge Caravan for stuck caliper. They diagnosed issue was a pinched break line, fixed. Then advised me my front struts, rear shocks and stabalizer bar needed replacement. Then tried to sell me on a trans flush, radiator flush, power steering flush. Long story short wanted over $3K to fix! Advised shop that i also had a clunking noise in right rear, they stated rear caliper needed to be replaced. Didn't price check and advised to fix struts, shocks and stabalizer, charged over $1.5K. Then a week later vehicle starts clunking and making a lot of noise, took to another mechanic and they never tightened my sway bar links!!! Plus mechanic at other shop advised if they would have completed repairs would have only been $800.00 out the door. The new Mecahnic fixed their errors as well as the rear clunking which was just a clip, not the whole caliper! $10.00 replacement!!!! Outrageous pricing and shady work. Will not go again.
Dear Mr. James Smith of Livonia, MI 48154 I’m very sorry to hear that you had a problem after your service visit to our facility. If you would have just contacted us we would have gladly repaired your complaint to your satisfaction. I’ve reviewed your repair order #0023073 and have inspected all the charges and this is what I have found. On your particular vehicle to install front struts the factory time shows 2.5 hours of labor per side, we only charged 2.35 hours of labor per side. You may not be aware of this, but to obtain access to the strut fasteners the entire front cowl assembly needs to be removed from the vehicle. As for the price of the struts, you received what is known as a quick strut. What this means is you received a new strut, strut mount with insulator and a new coil spring which brings your vehicle back to factory ride height and ride. The other items that were listed on your repair order were items that have been neglected in the past. Your vehicle, when in our facility, was 8.5 years old with 94,225 miles and had never had any fluid maintenance service performed. These items were recommended as normal service for any vehicle. It also listed tires in the estimate as being worn to the replacement level, as well as, a problem with an emission control device known as an EGR valve. When you add up all the necessary repairs and maintenance needed at one time, sometime it is shocking. This is why we prioritize listed service for customers, with the most important service first. After all, if you had issues with your vehicle wouldn’t you want your service provider to advise you of these problems? In conclusion allow me to say, after the fact price estimates aren’t as accurate as they may sound. Anybody can say that they could have done a repair, faster, cheaper……..choose any adjective you like. We take pride in offering quality service at a reasonable price while still offering a solid warranty with every repair. We also have a fleet of 5 loaner vehicles to accommodate every schedule. Please contact me personally if I can be of any further assistance. Joe Giniel (Owner) 734-522-7333
